It’s set to low bitrate, it’s not switching upon turning the truck off, I’ll see what it does tomorrow and then maybe I need to do a factory reset

update same as yesterday, firmware updated, factory reset, reset all settings on camera only, formatted the SD card twice, no luck, new SD card is coming tomorrow, its just dropping power it seems like, maybe I can try letting the 12v battery drain further

Is the camera turning off as soon as you turn off the truck and open the door?

itll run for like 2 hours and then turn off, I believe I have the little box set to 12v shut off
So when it runs, is it recording, just not to the parking mode folder? Sounds like maybe the 12v constant and the 12v ignition might be swapped, so it's seeing the constant as the ignition so it doesn't know to switch to parking mode.

I don't think my camera is new enough to announce parking mode, the parking mode is shown on the video, it 100% worked with my Subaru when I had it hard wired, no change happens when i shut the truck off, maybe I need to check the plug on the truck with a volt meter to see if its the same as your 2024

Alright so, I’ll admit I didn’t do the wiring I let my father crimp and do this, he has more experience, but not with molex, but there was an issue, and I almost blew something up in my truck, I just ripped them out forcefully and have to go back to usb for now until I can figure out a better was to get this connector to work, yes those are burns from two wires touching

Something wasn't quite right there. I'd recommend the prewired plug because these ones are hard to pin yourself. I could definitely see a short causing some weird behavior. Might want to check the option fuse to be sure that didn't blow. I think I've linked the wiring diagram earlier in this post.

the truck was fucking pissed off. I started it and everything seems good thankfully, I ripped that out and put my ugly USB-C plug back in for now, I'll see what I can find thats pre wired and I'll check that fuse tomorrow after work, its pouring rain here this evening
