Hey all,

I know there are a few threads about the Diamondback Switchback tonneau covers. But in every single image I see with these covers on gen 4 Tacomas, it looks like the back sticks up quite a bit when it’s closed. Like it doesn’t fit well. Can anyone explain why they look like that? Is it just a thick and squishy weather strip, or does it actually have a fit issue? Because a friend of mine has one on a Silverado and it lays pretty clean and flat when it’s closed. If I’m going to spend $2k on a tonneau, I expect it to be perfect. So now I’m hesitating.

Usually it’s a combination of because they initially tightened the center clamps too much before the weather stripping has time to conform to the pressure

Because the center panel has no clamp. So it kind of floats upward probably. One of the reasons I’m getting the HD.

Haha…. Are you just following me around trying to sell me stuff, Josh? So I’ve seen the Retrax covers, and I like the logic behind the design. But how much bed space am I sacrificing to the end where it rolls up? Because I’ve already got the short bed. Also, I feel like there’s a potential of it jamming if I end up with debris in the tracks from offroading. That could be a pain in the butt. Is there anything about the design that would prevent that from happening?

Are you on another forum? Not 100% familiar with the username haha. Doesn't take up too much space and its on the very top where it does take up space, so like 6 inches of usable space from what most have said. Haven't had anyone complain about rocks or anything getting stuck from offroading, thats actually a great point.. but no complaints yet.
