Does every Gen 4 Tacoma version come with a Digital Key Card or just certain accessories versions? My extended cab (2 Door) SR5 did not come with one or the salesman just did not give it to me.

SR5 needs the Upgrade package to be capable of using Digital Key. Digital Key is the ability to use the Toyota App on your smart phone or smart watch as a key to unlock and operate you vehicle. You can also set it up for use with valet service or put limits on authorized users/drivers of your vehicle.

The Key Card is a physical credit card like device you can put in your wallet and it works like your key fob, but no buttons. I would assume it would come with the Upgrade PKG.

I have no issues with the app but I find it easier and faster to reach into my pocket and push button on the fob. Try that with your phone.

Digital Key has worked well for me, just need to have the iPhone Toyota app running to use. No need to take the phone out of your pocket. The mixed reviews have me a little concerned, but it’s been good for over a month now. Have not carried the fobs or the card, and the door handle and tailgate lock/unlock is reliable.

Check your app, there is a help button on “How to Use Digital Key” and a button for “Customize Key Range”. I have not changed the sensitivity myself, but something to try.

Since it works for me, I love this feature. No need to find the fob, just leave the house with your phone.
I don't intend to hijack this thread but the OP has a great group of Taco owners sharing their opinions so how the heck do ii lock the tailgate on my Taco Leo ? ? ? I paid extra for the "Premium" package.

You have power tailgate with Premium. if you want to test it. Lock the door on your truck and put your fob or any digital key device far away and go and try to open you tailgate. It should not open.

Also with the fob or digital key device on your person you can open the tailgate and it will not unlock the doors. When you close tailgate and walk away the power open buttons are again disabled.

No it's not fat. It's only equal to about two credit cards.
I use a slim wallet unlike that big fat trifold you use.
Anyone who uses a trifold would never call anything fat they put in it.😁
I used those for years when I was really young.
I found them really uncomfortable for the lower back when driving long distances, and too fat for the front pocket.
I don't like leaving my wallet in the vehicle when 'm driving in case I ever had a bad accident so nobody would steal it.
Also, I've tried it a few times and walked all the way in to the grocery store gathering my stuff just to get to the register and realize I forgot it and left it in the vehicle. Ugh.
Not to hijack this too far… but… Which slim wallet are you using now? My bifold looks like the pics of the trifold. Yet I realize I use exactly 1 credit card out of it & should probably carry my DL. The rest of my wallet probably doesn’t need to be part of my EDC if for no other reason than risk of loss.

This is the last one I ordered, although I've had better.
You can search for slim wallet on Amazon and check the reviews.
I got this one because it's a little narrower for the front pocket where I like to put it if I get in a place where I have to worry about a pickpocket with those loose back pockets some of my pants have.
