I have a 2024 tacoma sr5 so no sport mode dial. I only have tow haul and ect power. what are the differences between those two? does ect power making steering firmer?

I'm not an expert so someone here will need to correct me if I'm wrong but the way someone had explained it to me is ECT will hold the shift later in the RPM band when accelerating while Tow/Haul will select a lower gear to maintain a higher RPM when slowing down to essentially use engine braking to help slow the added weight of the truck.

I think this is what tow haul does. ECT definitely alters the throttle curve
