I was getting into my truck the other day and seen that my sliders were starting to rust, i thought toyota powder coated these things.

They do but when you sandblast them with your tires that is the result

Just get a rattlecan of black truckbed coating. Use it as soon as you see wear or any rust shows. I'm not sure how well it lasts if you let the rust build up too far.

Hit it with some RP-432 BLACK or Fluidfilm BLACK to stop it, hide the rust, and prevent future rust. I coated the underside of my steps when I installed them along with all the mounting hardware and bolts with CRC-6026 CLEAR and it's been all good so far.

I just spotted rust in the same spots on my Trailhunter. I don't think this should be happening with sub 5000 miles on the truck?

I removed mine less than a week after taking delivery to put on some step rails. If you or anyone else is interested in a replacement set, message me

I took mine into the dealer and they took pictures of it to send to toyota, i suggest you do the same. The more people that do the more of a case there is that something is wrong.
