We have been searching for a Tacoma since they were announced like a lot of you.
we have deposits in a couple of dealers and our name on many ”waitlists” we have received information from a couple dealers about “in transit” tacos but no one has a real date. They all say 3-4 weeks…
HOWEVER, we have other sources closer to production that have told us the factory is not going to ship anything for at least 4 weeks. They only have a few trucks done but transport vehicles need to be modified for these new trucks and that’s not gonna happen this year.
We also heard from every dealer that has an “in-transit “ taco has only had a sport or an SR5, all over 40k MSRP.

My dealer isn't expecting any until the end of January. New allocations will be issued at the end of December, so you should check back then to reserve if possible. I'm working with 2 dealerships right now and both are giving the same information.

Why would a transport vehicle need to be modified?
