while driving home through mountains from NC to TN encounter winter mix of weather. Ground temp 36 and mix of rain/ sleet/ snow. Had. Warning come up that front radar sensor covered and PDA disabled. When stope for gas, slushy mix was on the Sensor shield. Brushed it off and problem solved. Just learning the truck and all the electronic options but probably could have turned system off to get rid of warning. Wondering if Toyota should put some type of warming Element in the cover to melt ice/ snow.. Anyone else had this problem? And manual is not very well written about what warnings might show up..

My wife’s Honda Passport does the same thing. Really surprised that there isn’t some sort of heating element to prevent this from happening.

Yesterday in a good snow storm all of those systems shut down. Front radar, park sense, lane departure, ejection seat, etc. The annoying thing is the warnings NEVER go away. You clear them and they just keep popping up. Wish I could say, “Thanks. Don’t show that again.”

Yes, min has done this too. I had to stop, get out and clean it off 2 times while driving over a short period of time. Little annoying indeed

Did you try turning them all off? That would be my go to if this continues to happen..

Ski wax or Pam helps considerably.

I'll have to try this! I've had this problem with mud and snow. Mud when I was offroading and hit some very muddy areas. Today, one sensor had some ice coating it and shut down the whole system. Not sure why they can't just indicate that one sensor is occluded and keep the others going. Makes no sense to shut off the back sensors when one in the front has some snow or ice.

This happened to us yesterday . It is kind of annoying with the messages keep popping up even when your not using any of these systems. Toyota please come up with a fix for this

Yes that display constantly cycling is a pain in the butt and very distracting. Other vehicles I have driven you are able to clear it and it only pops up every once in a while. Plus the orange warnings are there on the perimeter to tell you the system is nonfunctional.
