I bet if you draw a vertical line from the back of the cab at the bed rail to the spoiler, it doesn't protrude much, if at all. Add the fact that the frame is so much stiffer than it was, and the clearance is probably fine.

Same! Sub in Solar Octane, however.

Honestly I think it just preference.
Lb obv adds more sqft for gear and depending on occupancy, could be more comfortable

Iā€™m gonna get an Alu-cab on a TH LB cause prob wonā€™t be able to do a rear seat delete as easily with the battery being under the rear seat and need access to it so want that extra space

Iā€™m all in on a crewcab/longbed too. Iā€™ve driven nothing but Ford trucks the last 30 years (ā€˜94 Ranger SuperCab with 6ā€™ bed and ā€˜02 F-150 SuperCrew with 5 1/2ā€™ bed). Iā€™m done with full-size trucks due to their bloated size and prices. Iā€™m also not willing to lose bed space going to a midsize, so with the lack of a Ranger (or Colorado/Canyon) SuperCrew longbed, the new Tacoma is now at the top of my list.

Iā€™m a mountain biker, trail builder volunteer, paddler and BSA assistant scout master and often carrying a bunch bikes, boats and/or camping gear, so the extra bed volume is a must. The 6ā€™ bed also affords carrying plenty of gear or tools with the tailgate up so I can use a receiver hitch with a 4 bike rack. A 5ā€™ bed just doesnā€™t meet my needs.
