I'm looking at a second set of wheels for winter tires and exploring the option of gen 3 Sport 17" alloys.
Wondering if someone smarter than I can advise on what is needed to do so.

My understanding is
Gen 3:
6 - 139.7 30et 106.1 cb M12x1.50 studs

Gen 4
6 - 139.7 60et 95.1 cb M14x1.50 studs

Is it really as simple as a hubcentric rings from 106 to 95?
And how to accommodate the difference in stud diameter?

Thanks in advance!

Iā€™m trying to do the same thing. I have the wheels sitting here in boxes, but scratching my head on the lug nuts. 4g lug nuts wonā€™t go through the 3g wheel and 3g lug nuts are too small for the 4g stud. Looking for help on how to solve the lug nut mystery?

I wondered if that would be the case. Of course it's not a simple swap. Also. Did you get proper hubcentric rings 106.1 to 95.1?Thank you fir sharing your findings.
Regarding lug nuts..what about something like this?
Please don't take my word for it though..Best to talk to a tire shop or mechanic before ordering new lug nuts.
Please let us know how you make out.

I have the hubcentric rings coming. Iā€™m told by a wheel shop to drill the wheel lug hole from the back side to match the m14 lug nut. That lug you shared is not mag seat. Might work, but trying to keep it like it was from factory. I watched a few videos on YouTube of people drilling wheels. Iā€˜ll probably try it. YOLO I guess. Iā€™ll report back. The guy with a thread from this week about this topic said he didnā€™t have to do this??? unless he bought his wheels second hand??? Mine wonā€™t work for sure.

Can you post a pic of one of you factory lug nuts? I agree keeping factory appearance is important to me too.
I'll have to check out that thread you're referencing. I must have missed it.
Cheers

Smaller lug is m12 Aftermarket. Bigger lug is OEM m14

Not sure if you have calipers to get an exact on the 4g seat diameter?
I believe 4gTacoma and 3g Tundra share the same lugs specs and here I see factory seat diameter of 0.86" whereas I just found aftermarket magseat lugs for m14x1.5 Toyota with a 0.73" diameter.
Might that smaller seat diameter allow enough room to fit the 3g wheel?
Attached are images showing the measurements I'm referring to.
If ypur lig holes on 3g wheels are an even 3/4" they might sneak in there?

If the measurement is truly .73 that would work. The specification at the top of your screen shot says .86. Those are exactly the measurements of the two lug nuts I have pictured.

Interesting. Yes I posted 2 screenshots one of what is listed for factory Tundra of 0.86 and the second is aftermarket Tundra lugs that list 0.73.
If the second screenshot (0.73) is an accurate representation of its seat diameter and is indeed m14x1.5 thread, how handy would that be...no drilling necessary.
I'll reach out to manufacturer to confirm.

To my friend up north: I didnā€™t know if you were following that other thread?

I bought my wheels on eBay from a Toyota dealer in Pennsylvania. No problem at all. They have all the colors if you search. I did one thing different than most. I went 255/75/17. Some refer to them as pizza cutters. They are narrow compared to what most are doing. But true 32 inches tall. I did this mainly because I want as little poke as I can with these wheels. These wheels offset is not ideal for the 4g in my opinion. I ordered the lug nut I showed in this thread a little ways back, but they showed up the wrong color (chrome). Black ones are shipped and Iā€™m waiting for them to arrive to get them mounted on the truck. The picture of the wheel next to my truck is just sitting there not mounted so not accurate proportions. Hopefully Iā€™ll have the lug nuts by the weekend and Iā€™ll share my final report asap.

Great info thank you for these details.
Too bad the wrong colour lugs were shipped.
I'm really curious to find out if our leg work will prove successful with these lug nuts fitting as intended.
Thanks again for the update.
