IMO - most of us pick and tweak our rigs for the image and/or the knowledge of real off-road capability but don’t really use it. I purchased and outfitted the 2019 TRD OR that I traded for my 2024 Limited specifically for off-roading and overland camping. It was expensive and made the truck noisier, less gas efficient, and overall less comfortable for on road use. I used the heck out of that truck for all sorts of things including pulling an overland tent trailer thousands of miles but never used more than the basic four wheel capability. I picked the Limited specifically to focus on comfortable and quiet towing for the miles to get there while still having really impressive (though not Trailhunter impressive) capability when I get there. Bonus has been that the Limited came with a number of things I would never have opted for that have become favorite features, like retracting running boards. Based on your intent, I suspect the Limited might be the best option.
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, it seems like we have similar intents and uses for a truck. How has the AVS been out on the trail? Any issues with the truck I should know about?

I am trying to find a cheap way to black out my fenders. With rock chips, I think plasti dip won't last long, and they seem too complicated (too many contours) to vinyl wrap.

Only thing I wish my Limited had was the locker, and black fenders. I easily blacked everything else out
Speaking of the fender flares, I did notice the paint quality on the paint matched flares is pretty atrocious.

I have a 2024 Limited. I came from a 2016 TRD Sport. I have increased the tire size, added a 1.5" leveling lift. I LOVE this truck. One thing that very few people talk about is that it has five different drive modes, not just three like the other models. I use the "custom" mode most of the time. I set it up for Engine-powerful, suspension-comfort and steering-Sport; you can customize the ride/drive, it's nice. I also have a 3900lb RV that I pull several times a month throughout the spring and summer. I barely even know it's there. I am truly happy with it. I don't have the Imax so I don't have the all-time 4wd. However, I do like the extra storage under the rear seat which is where the L-ion battery is at on the Imax. I color matched the mirrors and door handles because I like it better (It's my truck). The suspension is electronic and tunable, which I wasn't 100% sure about at purchase, but LOVE it. Good luck!

What did you do with your handles? Overlay over the existing, heat up the current chrome piece and peel off, or replace entirely by taking door apart?

I was in the same boat last year: wait for TRDOR for $$$ or Limited now for less money? The deal and availability of the Limited made it a no-brainer.

I LOVE the truck. Since I don't do much off-road, except the occasional drive on some farmland, foregoing the TRDOR wasn't much of a sacrifice at all. I'm usually city driving and for that the drive modes, ride, etc are awesome.

The chrome was a bit of a turn off so I bought some black TRD wheels from Ebay and had the chrome swapped out - It looks great.

I'd share a picture, but it's stuck at the dealer for the past month waiting on a part (coolant leak )... but that 's another story.

I think the limited is overlooked. Most people would love it if given the chance. I love it and I'd buy it again over the TRDOR now that I've lived with it for a year.

I agree with you @jxflyer. There was a line of 8 customers deep that were waiting for TRD PRO’s at my local dealer. I ended up driving 5 trucks…2 Tundra’s (way too much truck for my needs) and Sport, TRDOR and then finally the Limited. Now mind you, I just came from a JLUR and frankly got tired of the shaking baby head syndrome. One drive in the Limited and I knew that this is what I wanted. I never used my sway bar disconnect or lockers in that Jeep for 7 years, so I knew I didn’t need that now. Plush, luxury, options…that’s what I wanted. I guess I’m the old man here because I love the chrome. 😂

Thanks for sharing! Have you had any other issues besides the coolant leak?

Unfortunately I bought the truck in late October and the first outing with the trailer is still in planning. That said, I put about ~1000 miles, mostly highway in inclement weather, in and out of 4WD over Xmas. I‘m overwhelmingly happy with everything except the gas tank size. I’m working on adding a 10L Jerry can holder to my trailer to compensate.

I hope you’ve noted the OEM trailer brake controller and backup steering assist that came in the package for 2024 (assume same in 2025) I’m looking forward to testing them both out In the near future.

Yes, the trailer brake controller and different camera views for towing are a big deciding factor for going TRDORP or Limited!

What color combo are you looking at? I almost went Limited for the lighter interior alone. I've gotten used to the extremely black interior of my TRD OR Premium thankfully, but the lighter seats in the Limited are sharp!

Love it. I thought about going with a PRO, but I really didn't need all the capabilities—or wouldn't be able to fully use them. What I really wanted was full-time AWD, since all the other vehicles in my fleet have it; it's nice to just drive without having to worry about driveline binding and issues like I had with my old Tundra. You get used to the chrome, but I’ve got plans to tone down the look—without eliminating it completely.

I was looking at the Underground with the black interior. They have one with the lighter interior, which is really nice, but my kids would destroy the light interior in about a week, haha.

I went with a Limited because my wife wants creature comforts. I do go off road a lot, not Moab style offroad, but on rough dirt and gravel trails with sometimes substantial mud. I might miss the locker if I ever hit something really rough and boggy, but that hasn't happened, and I have a winch going to effect a self rescue if I need to do that.

Really, my only regret so far is not getting the hybrid.
