Nope, this was the only issue. Otherwise, it rides, drives, runs great.

I'm extremely happy with my Limited i-Force Max. The extra torque, Sport + drive mode, and full time AWD are guaranteed smiles per hour. Whether it's the Trail Hunter, TRD Pro, or Limited, I don't think there is much room for disappointment.

I’ve been lurking around for a couple of weeks, while doing some research on a potential 4G purchase. First and foremost, let me preface by saying that the ideal spec that I was originally looking for was a TRDORP; however, here in central Texas, they are hard to come by, and when you do find one, dealers aren’t doing much a of a discount.

This brings me to the Limited. After test driving some regular TRDOR’s and a Limited, I found that the Limited had significantly less NVH and drove significantly better. I understand that the OR is tuned for OR, but the Limited felt more like my 5th gen 4Runner TRDOP in terms of suspension dampening, especially in “comfort” mode.

My question to y’all is: Would it be worth pulling the trigger on generously discounted ($6,000 off MSRP) for a Limited rather than wait around for a TRDORP? My 4Runner has handled everything I’ve thrown at it without ever needing MTS or Crawl Control, and I’ve engaged the locker maybe twice, which makes me think the Limted could handle the majority of my off-road use with some better tires and aftermarket skid plates. My use for the truck will be towing our 3,000 lb off-road camper, mild/moderate off-roading (no rock crawling), and as a daily driver (sticking my 8 and 2 year old in the back from time to time). In addition to the tires, I would be swapping those awful wheels out. I actually don’t mind the faux-brush aluminum grill and tail gate handle.

With the discount, I’d be in at a lower OTD price point than a TRORP with the same creature comforts, minus the off-road tech…

I would love to hear some feedback from all you TRDORP and Limited owners out there, and thank you in advance for your responses!

I cannot answer for you but can let you know why a Limited was no good for me and would have been no good if we were not empty nest status.

Back seat of a Limited can't ever be a nice place to be for a long time. The short bed only means a pickup truck that could not do what a minivan or even the right wagon can do. That made the Land Cruiser or now 4Runner to consider if I did not ultimately just get a long bed model.

In presales for Tacoma and competitors salespeople would try to say short bed would work but putting a ladder in sideways took away a lot of useful space in the bed. When needed, back seats down in a Land Cruiser was a lot of space.

A cousin bought the Land Cruiser near when I got the Tacoma and it is just a far superior for back seat vehicle with similarities. That 8 year old won't like back of a pickup soon.

Yes - the back seat space is definitely a concern, especially when going camping/roadtripping With both kids. The 8 year old doesn’t mind it, as he‘s used to cramped spaces in both by father and father in law’s mid-size trucks; however, the car seat for the 2 y/o is more of the problem.

Yes that was disappointing. But like many here, it won't be stock for long. Leaning towards these.

I guess I'd say I'm an old man now @ 56 with two grandchildren. That said, Id say that I definitely prefer luxury, a good ride, and quiet cabin. I've said in previous posts that I'm not floored with the quality of material of the indoor plastics on this truck, but aside from that -- overall speaking -- I'm very happy with this truck. Even though I don't have the premium model, so with that said I'm missing the under hood and sometimes the rattiness of this 4-banger annoys me when accelerating hard. But that usually goes away once the engine is good and warmed up. However I can't/won't see me spending over 400 bucks for some fabric/felt insulation/liner. Ridiculous when that should be standard on all models. My 2 cents worth anyhow.

Otherwise I do admire my truck and don't regret the ORD model. It rides great, and is generally quiet. At least as quiet as my last truck -- 68k 21' Silverado High Country was.

What I'm trying to express is the back seat of a Tacoma is limited no matter what, the short beds have limitations, and together can't really do what some other vehicles can. One should delay gratification and consider that stuff before you've bought what might not be ideal.

Maybe this expresses it. My cousin's Land Cruiser, a work associate's short-bed gen 4 and my long gen 5 share a lot but....... His Land Cruiser is a much better choice for his grandkids and not having true truck needs. My work associate says his grandkids fit in his Tacoma for a short bit but for passenger use they all prefer the RAV4 and Highlander. It is all great stuff but formats are different.

Nothing I'm trying to say is meaning one or the other is bad like it is trying to say the same platform can be two different SUVs (LC, 4Runner) and two different pickups via wheelbase. If there are no true truck or full frame needs none of them can be nice and comfy like a Grand Highlander or Crown family.

sure, but you specifically called out the Limited trim's back seat, when in fact all the Tacoma back seats are not spacious, and one trim is way worse, the TRD Pro.

Yes - Aside from the hood deadening material, the Limited also has extra door seals that regular TRD OR and SR5 do not have. Toyota did this with the Tundra as well, and it’s a really petty and disingenuous move in an attempt to sway customers into more expensive trims.

24 Limited owner here and I absolutely love this truck. The ride in comfort mode is really sweet, especially on long road trips. I have the Windchill Pearl with the boulder color interior and get compliments all the time. I ditched the Crome wheels after 3 weeks and bought a set of 22 up Tundra 20” dark gray wheels with some 33” AT Michelins. I also removed the Crome exhaust tip and painted the pipe flat black. I’m ok with the door handles and mirror caps.

Love my Limited, no regrets whatsoever. My OR adventures are not very demanding and wanted the iMax so Limited was the best choice for me. Wasn't a fan of the chrome so went full bore on deleting. Love the tech & features and can make it look like an aggressive off-roader [poser I know].
