So I'm curious about diff gearing. I see even with what models are out currently with different tire sizes that all models are coming with a 3.58 gear ratio. I'm curious if the hybrid models coming stock with bigger tires and going to have a lower ratio to accommodate the tire size. Or if having the hybrid motor Toyota isn't worried about it.

I was wondering the same. And if the trd offroad has a larger diff. I heard it mentioned somewhere. Same as tundra?

I heard that also, like a 9.5 in instead of 9 in.

It's mind blowing they used the same gearing for a sr5 all the way up to Off road with the ice motors. I would have assumed a little lower ratio.

No more manual daily drivers for this guy.

Like 37 tall tires? Hopefully the hybrids get 4.10 gears that would be nice.

Haha, yeah 37” tires, someone is bound to do it. Hybrid gearing will probably be the same across all auto trans models, otherwise they would have to regear the transmission.. with all the uniformity of the TNGAF , I don’t see them doing that. Although I want the 4.30 final drive with auto as well.

My old 2016 SR had 4.30 gearing with the 6-speed auto.

Now I enjoy the same 4.30 off-road gearing with my TRD Sport 6MT.

Hey guys - curious if anyone knows whether the Trailhunter and Pro models should be regeared before putting 35s on them.. everyone I ask says it handles it just fine, but every gear ratio chart I see says that 3.58 is too tall for a 35... doesn't the torque matter though? In other words, if the torque can handle it, why is a regear needed?
