Has anyone experienced a mild rattle coming off of the a-pillar on driver’s side? I can’t tell for sure if it’s a rattle or loud wind noise/air leaks. It comes on at around 30 mph. Interestingly, it doesn’t come on when the weather is cooler (in the morning or late evening). I’ve tried all the tricks that I know (putting silicone grease on the weather strip, adding foam tape around the door, etc). I hate to bring it to the dealer for something like this and am hoping someone can give me other ideas to try.

I had a similar problem in another Toyota, It was wires causing the noise. Just wrap them where they are clipped to the body and noise went away.

Were the wires inside of the a-pillar?

Yes, attempted to fix mine today. If you pop off the pillar cover (One 10mm and one white clip underneath. careful of the tweeter. The tweeter has 4 clips around it that pop right off.)

You will see a factory installed foam strip that runs the length of the windshield. I had to re-position it with a heat gun.

In addition it was rattling against the dash where they come together. I added a thin piece of foam tape along that location.

I just did this today, so I will report back on success.

I had a rattle that I thought was coming from the A pillar but actually turned out to be the drivers side passenger door trim (bottom right corner). Made an intermittent clicking type of sound.

Let us know how that works out. Send us pics of your installation/fixes if possible. I managed to remove the A-pillar without any issues. I didn’t see anything unusual. I put additional foam tape around the wires to provide additional isolation.

The odd thing about my rattle is that it seems to be dependent on temperature. When it is cool like early in the morning, I can’t hear it.

Thanks. Are you referring to the small black plastic piece near the door hinges?
