Multimedia Lag thru Apple Car Play

Has anyone experienced a severe lag when connected to Apple Car play?
I am not sure if it’s because my phone is a little older or what.
I have an iPhone 14 so it shouldn’t be so old that it’s completely outdated.
But, this lag is so irritating.
it’s obviously not a crazy issue when the car is driving because I don’t care that the mouths aren’t synced up with the video cuz I’m not looking. But, sitting waiting for my kids in the pick up line is killing me.
I have tired to “hardwire” into the side of the 14” monitor and disconnect all Bluetooth and disconnect Apple car play and only run the usb and it still lags.
WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!
I’ve never missed my 22’ 5th gen 4Runner more.
Is my new truck to smart for my phone?
I have a 24’ TRD Off-road Premium.
AND I LOVE THIS TRUCK!
but was extremely disappointed in literally just this aspect of it.

I think the problem is because it's paired via Bluetooth so there will be a delay between what happens on your screen vs the sound through the truck speakers. I have an iPhone 13 and have the same issues as my mom with her 16 connected the same way.

I’ve tired connecting with a USB-C to the side of the monitor and eliminate the Bluetooth connection but am still experiencing this lag.
I hope I can figure this out.
