I need to remove the D-rings from my bed. My drill doesn’t have enough torque to do it. For you tool savvy folks what besides a more powerful drill (hand tool) can I use to drive the T-40 bit?

I would imagine a socket wrench and a wee bit of hand torque would break it loose pretty quickly

Thanks, I don’t know that I have seen a socket that will fit that bit? Do you know if there is such a thing?

Ah, you will need to purchase a Torx bit socket set. Most hardware stores will have them and certain hardware stores like Ace may sell just the one you need instead of a full set

A standard 1/4 inch sized socket should word for that torx bit. Not referring to the drive size although that may be 1/4 inch also.

you can order a single torx T40 bit that fits your 3/8 or 1/2” socket wrench for less than $10 on Amazon.

Autozone / Oreillys also sell Allen shaped (L) Torx wrenches, that and a cheater bar would definitely do the trick. These were pretty damn tight when I swapped out the OEM d rings for billet ones.

I used an impact driver to get mine loose.. They used Blue Loctite on it and just had to break that loose..

Don't use a drill. Use an impact driver. Right now both Lowes and Home Depot have a Dewalt sale going on. You can get two batteries, a charger, and the select tool of your choice for $200. The impact driver is one of the select tools. This is a tool you will use over and over.
