Hi all. Just wanted to start off with an intro. Got my Tacoma 6' bed March 23. Wasn't on the lot yet because it had just rolled off the carrier. Got lucky. It wasn't even listed on their website yet. They say they don't have another 6' bed coming in within the next 70 trucks allotted to them. Need to know how to upload pics to my profile.Traded in a 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 which I HATED!!! With nearlyn800 miles on this, I am LOVING it!!! So fun to drive!!!

Congrats, looks clean! I have the same spec coming in soon.
Thanks I know you'll enjoy it. I'll get together a list of my little gripes. Nothing too bad right now. One cool little feature is the JBL speaker on the dashboard pops out of there so you can use it as a portable speaker.

Looks nice! Enjoy! Do I dare ask what you hated about the Colorado?

Thanks and as for what I hated about the Colorado? How much time do you have:unsure:?

Hesitancy on acceleration from either a dead stop or lower speed.

No physical knob or button for the lights. You have to go into the infotainment center to control the lights. One of the most stupid things I've ever seen on a vehicle! It took three clicks to get to the lights, and because I have a tinted windshield, I need the fog lights on at night.

It sounded like a Chevy spark with a hole in the muffler. I hated that sound so much!

Even though it had a control for the AC, it automatically came on if the temperature was set below the ambient temperature or with high humidity which is ALWAYS here in Florida. Could not turn it off without turning off the whole system. In other words, no fresh air at those times, unless the AC was on even at 49°.

I paid $550 for performance tune and really couldn't tell a difference even though the it was supposed to go up to 315 hp.

It was very, very easy to redline. It was a constant thing for me trying to keep it from doing so. I probably did it half a dozen times. I suppose that tells you how I'd like to drive:cool:. Not quite like I stole it, but I love muscle in a vehicle.

The seat belts did not hang properly because they did not have a button which meant the strap would slide down to where the back rest met the seat, so I had to reach down low every time I buckled up to grab the seat belt so i could engage it. I bought seat belt buttons from Amazon which took care of that issue. Yes, the only other one on the lot was the same.

I guess that's the worst of it. I had a 22 Colorado Z71 with the V6 and that was pretty good except for that air conditioning issue. I just had to have that new model when it came out.

I also had a 2019 Ranger, a 2020 Ranger and a 2021 Ranger Tremor. All three were lemons. The tremor was the worst. After our baby it for the first thousand miles, I drove it hard to north Georgia and back and the next morning I could smell the fuel in the oil. I went in the Ford and they could smell it and did an oil change immediately, and the oil was like water. Ford knew of the issue, but didn't know how to fix it. They replaced all kinds of stuff on top of the engine, which did not fix it and when I filed the lemon law, they didn't even contest it and took care of me for that. The service manager said they had another one that Ford cleared and put back on the lot and the new buyer had to bring it back for the same issue.

So far, I am loving this Toyota! It is so fun to drive and it sounds awesome!
I'll post a new thread on my little gripes about this Tacoma soon. No biggie and I'm sure this will be my last one, unless God forbids, something happens to it.

Thanks for taking the time to write it all up. It sounds like a lot of small things, the sum total of which I sure wouldn’t want to deal with either. Initial impressions can certainly make or break a vehicle for you, I’ve definitely experienced that. Glad you’re liking the Toyota! But. Sorry to hear too that you went through 3 Rangers, each worse than the last. The 2024 is on my short list as one of only a couple Fords that interest me (as a Ford guy even).

I was a week away from receiving a 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat and decided to stop in and see if the Toyota dealer had any of the redesigned Tacomas. I fell in love with it the way I drove it and I'm not looking back. I was always a Ford guy myself. Never had issues with any of the F150s I've had except for the six cylinder I had in 2022. It sucked royally with a shudder issue.
