Rough Country HD2 running boards took about 2 hours putting everything together and installed it to the truck

Question for you on the HD2 - the price is certainly right, but what isn't clear based on the product page is what material is used for the end caps. Are those aluminum like the main board piece, polymer like the video describes the steps to be, or something else? Also, how far out would you say the edge of the board is from the body of your truck?

Best I can tell it’s hard plastic on the end caps it seems really durable. I went two fingers across between the running boards and body that way it didn’t rub against the body if mud got in to it, and be easier to pressure wash it. It’s really a preference for me you can put it up against body go about I think 2-3 inches from the body

So with that said, how far out is the outer edge, including that gap? Said another way, I am trying to determine how much wider the truck plus steps would be, does it go a couple inches out from the wheels/fenders, etc? I don't see a width measurement on the HD2 page so it's a guess on my part based on looking at your images and the product page.

I say at almost 6 inches with the gap. If your looking straight ahead you can’t even tell it’s on there
