Noise after truck was shut off for 4 hours

Went to a football game last night and came home to a strange whirring noise under the rear passenger tire fenderwell. The interior lights were also on. I opened the door and looked around then shut the door and the noise and light problem went away. Has anyone experienced this?

My 2014 4 runner makes this weird noise somtimes, i can walk into garage and hear it , not always but once inawhile, i just figured somthing in fuel tank, it seems when i fill the fuel tank up i will notice somtimes…..fast forward to no 2024, i never had any related issues from the noise, im not a technition so it may be somthing i should worry about but at 195,000 miles i have absolutely. No issues with this truck

Was your door fully closed? If left ajar, the vehicle thinks it going to be driven so certain actions are taken by the BCM. Possibly the fuel pump self-priming. Once you opened and shut the door everything resets.

Regardless, modern vehicles make all kinds of noises. I have a Lexus hybrid, it's always whirling and popping and buzzing.

It's the fuel pump priming the system. My last 3 trucks from various manufacturers have done that. It senses the fob and figures you're about to drive. Normal

Maybe options or packages make a difference but my TRD OR lights up inside when you're near and I've suspected that matter of engine management or thermal management in newer vehicles. My wife's German car makes noises long after it's shut down.

I walk past mine sometimes after being in the driveway parked off and I hear a noticeable screechy sound come from the back of the truck sometimes

Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes.
This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and, it does not indicate a malfunction
