Have a rabbit hole of a question I’m hoping the hive mind can help with.

The rock/stone protection films on my new taco’s rear quarter panels (same failure, both sizes) have started to collect dirt under the edges and corners. Not a massive issue but enough to be noticeable when it’s clean and shiny. Took the truck to Toyota last month.

The local dealership has been running this up and down the Toyota cooperate and regional chain and can’t find the part numbers of the films so they can replace them.
I’m told:
-Theae are port installed parts
-There are no part numbers for the films
-The port can’t just send new ones to the local dealer to install
-They want to take the truck to a non-Toyota body shop for non-Toyota paint protection film to be installed.

Has anyone else run into this issue and is anyone curious enough to help figure out the part numbers? End goal is to try to get OEM repair parts.

Every level of Toyota has told me it’s not the numbers I initially suspected:
58741-AK010
58742-AK010
76921-AK020
76922-AK020

Hoping one of the amazing taco fans on here has more experience and/or access looking through Toyota parts catalogs. Pic for reference:

You're gonna spend x multiples more $$ trying to do something like that at the dealership. You can buy your own ppf and do it or take it to a shop and have it done. I wouldn't imagine something like that would cost much at all.

Going through the dealership is a waste of time and resources.

Good thought and thanks. This is already identified as a warranty repair so it wouldn’t cost me a thing. Just hoping for an OEM replacement in the warranty process.

Man, I just noticed this on my 2-week-old Tacoma yesterday and it's driving me up the wall. It's something so small, but like you said, very noticeable on a clean truck.

I'll have to bring it up when I go back to the dealer to get my plates.

Really hope they find a good fix for ya. Good news is it should all be covered by warranty work. Chime back in when ya get an answer if ya don’t mind :)
