I’ve been thinking of buying tires on offer up, but the prices seem a bit suspicious. Most national tire shops quoted me $1300.00. Has anyone bought new tires on offer up? Is it worth it? I was looking at a set of 285/70/R17 $950 including installation and balance.

I would double check the production date stamped on the tires, don't recommend buying anything older than 2/3 years.

Also be wary of bait and switch, it's common shopping second hand around socal on fb market/offer up. usually if it's too good to be true, it usually is. I've ran into multiple scams shopping for the same tires myself.

But if you do happen to go to see them in person, double check the photos to make sure the tires match (wear/prod date is same as photos), check THOROUGHLY for any plugs/patches, and thread depth wear should be reasonable for the # miles used.

Thanks for the advice. After talking to a couple of people, they said that it would be better to pay a little more, and get the tires at a reputable tire shop. So, I ended up at America’s Tire and bought the K03s. Thanks again. Safe travels!
