I have recently done so to install the OEM dash cam. It was difficult but did come down without breaking the red clips (instructions warn this could happen). No suggestions other than be patient.

Pull down from the edge closest to the windshield. It takes some force.

Do it on a hot day. The plastic softens up and is more pliable.

It doesn't pull vertically down, it slides down the face of the windshield. I broke one of my top brackets (the non-easily replaceable part) pulling straight down as shown in the Dongar help video.

pull it straight down, ive had to do it over 10 times now its easier by the sunroof just make sure you dont pull on the thin parts youll know

I just did this for dashcam install. There are four red clips. Initially was giving slow and even pressured but didnt budge.

What I did was Start from the front/closest to windshield, with both hands, give it a good yank down, then again at the rear. It literally sounds like it's breaking but it came out in one piece with all four red tabs completely intact.
