Hello,
I have a 24 TRD Off-road with no roof rack. When I'm cruising at 60-65mph, mostly around 65mph, there is a slight rhythmic vibration from under the truck. Seems like it could be the transmission or transfer case. Could someone else please try this and let me know if they also get this? Thanks in advance.

Other info:
2024 TRD Off-Road 6 Foot bed
No roof rack
Driving in 2WD
Light pedal cruising at 65mph.
Rhythmic vibration that fades in and out
Westcott Designs Lift
Radio etc off

Best way to describe it (zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom) every second. And no, i'm not confusing my Taco for a Mazda.

I reported a vibration on my ā€˜24 OR to my dealer at my 5k service. Of course, they couldnā€™t replicate it. I told them it was around 70mph on nice smooth highway. At the time I had Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70R17. After having Discount Tire recheck the balance as well as the dealer, I ditched the Nittos and went back to the BFG Trail Terrains. I didnā€™t notice the vibration before getting the Nittos. Well, I also get it with the BFGs. It is rhythmic, but not always present, which is odd. Lately Iā€™ve been wondering if it could be the driveshaft slightly out of balance. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I also notice an extremely slight rhythmic vibration in the steering wheel that feels like something is grinding. It does it like three times in sync, stops a second, then does it again. I havenā€™t brought it up to the dealer because Iā€™m quite certain theyā€™ll never find where thatā€™s coming from.

Sorry man. These kinds of issues drive me nuts because you know they are real but you also know the dealer is not motivated whatsoever to resolve it. I will say that maybe *some* vibration is normal. I donā€™t notice any in my truck except that steering wheel always has some tiny amount of road feedback vibration that I think is entirely normal.

mine was a combo of a wheel outta balance & frontend alignment causing a vibration @73mph
the frontend was out of alignment
my steering wheel no longer has the grabby feel anymore
(i actually did not notice this till it was gone šŸ¤Æ)
BigO found the issues šŸ˜Ž

My truck drives normal. Iā€™ve driven a lot of vehicles in my life. My definition of feedback vibration and yours may be entirely different. I was trying to tell OP that feeling the road to some extent is normal but I donā€™t think thatā€™s what heā€™s describing.

I dont really feel it in the steering. Its more coming from the floor.

now mine was a tactile very soft grippy feeling in the steering wheel that was there from the 1st day , I thought it was just being a truck & the new tech systems at work .
Now the second I drive the Tacoma away after the BigO alignment , I notice the steering has no feel going down the road till I actually turn the wheels or get near / over any white line . the constant slight grippy feel was gone as the fronts were scubbing ever so slightly producing the feel in the steering
YMMV but I am driver by profession
I have drove p/u's ,box trucks , semi's of all sizes , vintages & makes since I was 15 in 1970 ,
ya get feel for vibrations after awhile
BigO confirmed my concerns

Iā€™m just saying itā€™s very hard to convey the subjective feeling in the wheel on a forum. Also what is a bigO alignment? Is bigO a shop?

I would start looking at trouble shooting the u joints , driveline , transfer case in that order. at least get under there & make sure the u joints & driveline have no play , grab the driveline yank it back & forth ,side to side it should be solid no slight movement
