Running boards vs steps?

First time truck owner and I am looking at getting either running boards or steps for my 4th gen Tacoma. Does anyone have any suggestions between the two? Pros and cons? Brand recommendations?

Electric running boards by rough country is what I’m running the step is lower to the ground for a easy step into the truck

I got the BA2 running boards from rough country. They work quite well and were easy to install. Definitely prefer the full running board compared to just a step as I get out of ,y truck and stand on them quite frequently.

I recently put on the black OEM steps and have been very happy w/ them. Since mine is a 2-dr the options were/are very limited, but so far so good. Extremely easy install.

I bought Toyota tube step part#938-35240 from dealership got 10%off and absolutely love them. They look real nice
