Picking up my 2025 TRD OR in bronze oxide next week and I’m amped. It’s my first new vehicle, Tacoma, and truck.

I’m going on a road trip for a couple weeks and am planning on sleeping in the bed. Has anyone gotten a softopper for their bronze oxide and willing to share pictures? I’m trying to decide what color to get.

I’m also open to other ideas for how to build it out but it seems like a softopper would best fit my needs. My main priority’s being budget, ability to stealth camp, and removability.

TIA!

You stated "removability". That influenced my choosing Fas-Top where in addition to how fast the whole topper can be gone, I have tonneau, topper all in one where it can all be gone fast. I believe Fas-Top is still the only one that does that.

I snapped these photos last summer when I first got it. Hopefully you can see how I can have the topper rolled up and still get full length of bed below it. The 4th gen cab back also looks better than some others when you have topper up and tonneau rolled.

Most of the time I use it in tonneau mode including for no visibility inside. You can order your topper with covered, clear and screen windows that are interchangeable. Somewhere on YouTube a guy covers how he made the screen and clear work together with velcro sewn in vs swap out a window just for camping etc.....

It barely takes a minute for me to remove the topper completely.

I love the concept but it looks ugly when it’s deployed as a topper. How’s the water proofing? I’ve heard it’s not great and since I’ll be mainly using it as a shelter so that’s a big concern
For up close or hands on, I was only able to compare to some folks with other soft toppers on 3rd gen Tacoma shorties and full-sized pickups also shorties but 5.5 feet beds. They all have same sort of truck/ag/marine "canvas" and stitching. You need seam sealant no matter what the brand/maker and even a hard topper on a pickup bed is not perfectly water tight.

I did get their optional seal kit which is just some common materials pre-cut for spots where all pickup beds leak and a bottle of seam sealer.

Others who've recognized what the Fas-Top does have though it pretty cool but it does look best on a 4th gen and long bed.

I'm not sure what else to say. I didn't buy a fashion show. If not for work - my business, trail building, ski area crew - it is fantastic for my pursuit of back country sports. None of 3 different hard toppers I've had have been perfectly waterproof. Buy a van for that.
