In my experiance, I have put on Old Man Emu Lifts on vehicles and later swapped the spring for a slightly taller lift like 1"

The Wescott lift essentially proves there is room on the shock to extend the lift. That lift does make for a stiffer ride due to the shorter spring compression

SOOOO, wondering what springs can be swapped onto the stock suspension without any other modifications. Wondering about 1-1.5" lift.

Icon and Dobinsons have rear springs for lift. Not sure about front springs, but you could call them?

Dobinsons makes a couple different springs for the front, the C59-820 and C59-822. Both claim about 2" of lift with the difference between the two being the load. The C59-820 is rated for stock and the C59-822 is rated for 110-150lbs.

I currently have the Westcott spacer on the front but once I get my bumper and winch installed I'm anticipating I'll probably want to just swap the spring and eliminate the spacer. I'll be calling Dobinsons before I purchase anything though. Technically the specs they quote are for the LC300, which I've assumed is a quite a bit heavier vehicle, so it could be the 820 will work fine with the added weight, at least that's my experience with the rear.

There's a detailed thread I started wrt Dobinsons springs here.... See post #47 for an install of the springs on the front but he hasn't posted an update yet (only been a couple of weeks) on how they're performing for him.

With the westcott spacer, do you notice the front bumpstop regularly in harsh dips? I need about an inch in the front to level things out with my camper setup/rear spring but am trying to avoid full new front suspension but also don’t want something that compromises function

No, I've never noticed any issues with them. As a lift they work just fine. If I recall correctly, in one of his videos TRD Jon or one of the other Youtube guys mentioned some harshness every once in a while but those guys are idiots flying across the desert at 50mph and that's the only time he noticed it. In normal driving conditions I'm perfectly happy w/them.

Physics are at play here though. If you just want to raise the front end a bit and you're not into hardcore wheeling then the spacers are fine. Once you start adding weight to the front end, at some point, new springs (and maybe shocks) are really the best solution. The bumper and winch I have on order will add ~150lbs to the front end. I'm hoping that's not enough to force me to replace the springs b/c right now I'm perfectly happy with the spacer, but we'll see...

Alright, good to know. I don’t have any added weight up front. I will be adding trail hunter skids and sliders but most of my driving will be relatively tame and then otherwise on rough dirt roads at worse. With my 817’s in the rear, I have just a little lift to where I need the front up about 3/4-1”. My headlights are maxed out upwards and still just below where they should be stock.

one interesting note is even with this setup and just my camper without gear, I seem to find my front bump stops thru town about 15mpg over some compressions in the road etc. I’m guessing that’s normal? The stock suspension is GREAT otherwise

resurecting my old thread. Looking to confirm a couple of things'

I read that the TRD Pro comes with a lift of 1.5" in the front and 0.5" lift in the rear from the factory

I can't see anything about the TRD Off Road having a lift.

I will be putting on the new ARB full size front bumper when my local ARB dealer gets them in stock.

There will be some droop due to the wieght and some as well when I add a rear bumper in thee future

Wondering if the springs from a TRD Pro or Trailhunter would provide 1.5" in the front. Guessing the bumper would take 0.5" away from that (no data to support)

I am looking to confirm the springs on the pro are taller than the Pro, looks like it in videos. I think the Trailhunter is the same height, is that correct?

next question would be if I changed the front spring and net 1" of lift, will that work without changing the control arm?

My question is just about Toyota parts. I know there are all kinds of aftermarket options out there
