Never had a vehicle with "auto start" before. Starting to get cold here in PA so I've started my PRO from the comfort of my home using the Toyota app.
My question is: when I get in the truck, and its running, it won't shift out of park and the engine shuts off.
I'm guessing that's a security thing. Is that accurate?

yes. After remote start you still need to press the brake and start button once you get into the car.

Would like to share another tidbit about the Toyota APP, I stumbled upon by accident. This can only be confirmed on Android phone APP as that is what I am using. If you hold down on the APP like you are going to move it or uninstall it, ICONS appear for start, lock, and unlock. If you select one of these and add this is a shortcut to that operation in the APP. What it does is instead of opening app and having to hold down the function to activate it, when you use these shortcuts, after authentication it automatically performs the desired function with no need for a 2 second button hold. Hope others find this option as helpful as I did.

I added shorcuts for start, lock, and unlock to my homescreen via the iOS shortcuts app. Works great.

This is great! If you name those Start Truck and Lock Truck. Siri will do it for you. 👍🏼
