Tailgate Inserts over Ceramic Coating

I have a 2024 Tacoma TRD OR and had it ceramic coated. I recently bought the black Tacoma inserts for the tailgate. Do I need to have the coating removed from the letter portion of the gate before installing the inserts? I was told I do, but just want to confirm.

100%, they may temporarily stick but will not stay

Others can chime in but I’ve worked with ceramic coats for several years, adhesives just don’t stick or don’t stay stuck

I think @TrashPanda is right. Ceramic is very slick and I don't think the adhesive would hold for long.
