I just put the Thottle Commander on my 24 TRD Sport and it totally eliminated any throttle delay (minor). You can tune-in a bunch of different settings from Eco to Sport+ and the settings are much more precise than the Tacomas throttle presets in the ECU. It took 2 mins to install without tools. Anyone have any experience with these? Negative or positive?

Is there really any throttle delay though? I never personally noticed it. In Sport especially it's crazy sensitive. I assumed these drive modes replaced any need for a throttle commander.

I've used a pedal commander in my Grand Cherokee and have mixed feelings about it. It definitely provides a noticeable improvement in throttle response/acceleration and felt great using it for about a year.

We were road tripping through Vail Pass and every warning light on the dash lit up and Jeep went into limp mode... Took it to the nearest shop and discovered a throttle position sensor code. We realized it was probably caused by the pedal commander. I think I had it in City+4 or Sport-4, which was the sweet spot without being too aggressive. Huge sigh of relief in the moment it wasn't something more serious. Cleared the codes, removed the pedal commander, and have had zero issues in the three years since. Never reinstalled because it wasn't worth the risk while frequently driving in remote areas.

It makes sense newer vehicles could be much more sensitive to irregularities in throttle input. I'm not sure I would consider using one again on a brand new vehicle that's still sorting through electrical gremlins.

Had one for my 4runner and loved it. On my previous Tacoma I had the Overland torque tune with medium and spicy settings. My 24 does have a slight delay but sport mode is pretty good and the transmission gear hunting is less.

Just installed the ShiftPower version of these things and it made a definite improvement. As soon as a tune comes out (I had a KDMax tune in my 3rd Gen 2022 TRD Sport) I will get one of those… maybe put the ShiftPower thing on top of that too just to see what happens
