Tonneau cover + bed rack?

Is it possible to to have a tonneau cover installed and also install a bed rack system together or do they interfere?

Looking at getting my first tacoma, eyeing up one that has a cover and one that has a bed rack. I would like to have both a cover for the bed and a rack for accessories.

Thank you for the insight. I see how that works now. The truck I was looking at has the Toyota Bed Rack LD installed. And seeing how that looks like it mounts compared to yours. I'm guessing a cover can't also be incorporated.

I’ve got the diamond back. I plan to buy an up top rack that attaches to the cleat bolts from that cool Last Line of Defense dude. I want to throw on some recovery stuff, Jerry cans etc.

I had the the Retrax Pro XR on my short bed 3rd gen with Yakima Overhaul HD on top. For my Trailhunter long bed, I didn't want to lose the bed space to a retractable cover. I couldn't find a roll-up that would fit with my Overhaul, so had to change to the BAK revolver XTS (roll-up w t slots) paired with RealTruck Elevate FS Rack (scroll down). No lost bed space. Works for me.

A bed cover with T-Slots is the way to go! Our racks work great with T-Slot covers, as well as sit-on-top covers like DIamondbacks, Extang Solidfolds, etc.

For covers that attach using the stock Toyota bed rail system, the tie downs still function but are just a little less functional because they no longer have the same range since the cover attachment points limit it. Just think it through during install so you don't have to undo things later. I find that placing the tie downs strategically between the cover attachment points still gives me enough flexibility.

The issue is that you can't slide the tie downs the full length of the track if there is something "permanently" mounted like a cover. Not a huge problem, but definitely worth thinking about during install.
