Hey guys so I placed an order for the ARB bed rack for my Trail Hunter, total price paid just under $1800. I talked with my accessories manager at my local Toyota dealership and he quoted me $2000 for the installation of the bed rack, he explained to me it is a long process including removal of the rear seats, connecting and running a harness for the CMHSL, drilling several holes into the cab and bed. All of it is outlined in the instructions manual , I live about 35 min away for the Toyota Long Beach port here in California , this is where PIO (port installed options) get installed when the vehicles arrive. I think I might stop by and see if they have any employees that would take on installing this as a side job for me. I know there are plenty of other rear racks on the market such as the Kuat which I was considering but I like the overall look of the ARB rack , also I feel as if it adds more value to the truck as its sort of "OEM" part .

I may be ignorant to something here, but if all that labor is just for the third brake light to work, I'd go ahead and skip on that.

if It's just to get the 3rd brake light to work, I'd recommend maybe just getting one of those tail gate light bars instead. Or even something similar and put it on the top of the rack to act as your 3rd brake light.

Almost $4k just for a bed rack? That's a ripoff. Just because it's OEM, doesn't mean it's better. You might get a better warranty but I don't think it's worth it. I'd go with the Kuat instead. I personally think the Kuat looks better anyway.
