Was anyone able to get this option on their 2024 Tacoma?

Same with me.. My dealer said that everything needed to add to Tacoma was in the system but when they tried to order it, there were none in US. They felt like it would become available soon (within 6 months) as a dealer installed option. Question is what you need to add the system if you have a Trailhunter already with digital mirror and maybe ECU to drive the system..

Came installed on my 2024 OR Hybrid. 8/9/24. Very useful. Has a learning curve to specific trailers that can be stored. Great backing up to hitch. Only used it once. Dealer said don’t tow for first 1500 miles. Pulled 6000’ no problem. Only towed a couple of miles to home. Wouldn’t pull that for long distances but was great. Love it.

This system is NOT the trailer support bonuses that are in the truck software for assisting backing up or seeing the hitch.

This system is an extra communication setup that talks to a wireless camera unit you mount on the rear of your trailer. Then the truck can change the rearview mirror to be that camera rather than the truck rear (which now just looks at the trailer).

The factory force-removed the feature from my build saying parts were not available.

It's comprised of two additional roof antennas, the remote battery operated camera unit, and then the internal wiring and computer to link into the main dash and cameras. The antenna setup ensures the camera stays connected during left and right turns.

Even without it, you can set the truck to adjust blind spots for a trailer. You just can't "jump" the rearview image.

There are other threads on here where a lot of exploring was done to try and figure out all the parts that would be needed. But we need someone with it to see if their roof is also molded different for the addition positions, because I see no markers or flat spaces on mine for where you would drill and bolt.

I thought that Toyota had made this work without the two additional antennas, and they were just on the prototypes.

That was a running change to production trucks, so they are not on most trucks. I think that you can still add the trailer camera system without those.

I know some of you guys have this setup. Do you still need those other two antennas or does it work without them?
