Traction Control Surprise

I disabled traction control while traveling some difficult road conditions recently. Noticed that when speed exceeded 30 mph the traction control disabled dash notification disappeared and TC was reenabled .

typically once disabled TC remained disabled until it was reenabled my the driver or the engine was shutdown.

its cumbersome to have to constantly have to disable while navigating difficult conditions. Is there someway to keep it disabled?

Have to hold it down while stopped for it to completely defeat itself.
