Uneven Paint on the Roof

Hi all,

Have been wanting to ask this question since I got my truck. I noticed that the paint on the roof is uneven. Please see the area in the red circle in my picture. This is probably expected because I also see the same issue on other Tacomas and even other truck models. But I still would like to understand why they are like this.

It's not uneven paint. It's in the metal.

someone said it's like the paint protection on the rocker panels as gen3 had a rubber seal there , but there also is mounting holes there 4 roof racks as well

I’ve got the same on my Trailhunter. I made a similar post a little ways back and a couple people chimed in saying it was normal.

That’s where the roof seam is. The unevenness is caused by the seam sealer that is applied.
