who should I believe? or is this a faulty sensor? TRD Sport 2024

had my TPMS sensor go off on 1 tire, went to the tire shop and they put it on water and there was no leak so they didn’t do anything to it , I asked them to check the air in all of them, they were in about 27 psi, they inflated them to 32 as the sticker says.

now the he sensor in the screen says 41, i just bought a pressure stick at autozone to confirm and they they are very off, i would expect some deviation but not 10 psi

who should i believe?

Always believe the tire gauge not the TPMS. It is “mostly” accurate but a tire gauge is much better.

yeah turned the car on just for the sensors to update but i didn’t roll the car, should I go for a ride before checking?

check tires when cold so maybe that one tire has a very slow leak

Haven't checked that in my truck, but some tire sensors can take a while to update and give you an accurate reading. So yeah, I would drive it before making any decisions. I have also seen comparisons which show that tire pressure gauges can be all over the place on accuracy.

I have tire pressure problems with every vehicle in the winter since I've had alloy wheels. Always happens. What's driving me crazy right now is the TPMS sensor that Goodyear put in my spare. Now that it's cold, it shows low all the time. Just like 28 or 29 psi. I'll add air, but eventually it will show low again. Put it in my heated garage for a bit and it's fine.
