So I posted about my experience with safelite back in July. Basically they came out to fix a chip at suggestion of my insurance. Chip was less than a cm and not deep at all.
he punched my windshield with a sharp metal tool and it cracked. He said it would be fine and then crack was stable and wouldn’t grow.
it has grown. Now I want replacement.
my insurance won’t cover OEM and my called numerous glass companies last couple days and they all said aftermarket non OEM was now available.
So I think I will use insurance And pay the difference for OEM. Was told that was an option.
not sure if I should just wait at this point since non OEM glass is already available or what. Insurance says filing claim won’t affect my monthly premium. $250 deductible.
The whole process, especially safelite has been frustrating.
