Hey folks,
I'm located in the epicenter of car theft [globally] and will be installing multiple recovery systems: TAG at my insurance provider's mandate and a PlanetGPS Pluto 4G as a secondary/personal backup. The PlanetGPS leverages both Satellite and terrestrial 4G for communications and includes an immobilizer function implemented via a traditional dry contact relay.
What are the best locations to implement an immobilizer relay in my hybrid Taco? Beat-Sonic makes clever use of the drive-by-wire/electric-throttle harness at the gas pedal in their throttle response controller which includes a disable/immobilizer function. I've purchased one of these but want to add an additional remote immobilizer as well. Could I just wire that in before/after the Beat-Sonic and the pedal or are there other locations I should consider for the relay? I don't think I want to toggle the fuel pump.. I don't want to trigger check engine light with use, the beat-sonic handles that nicely.
Thanks,
Josh
