I’ve been looking at aftermarket shocks for awhile. Really don’t want to spend $3-$4000 on an adjustable set. These are new to the Toyota market and just went on sale. They seem to be well liked buy jeep owners. Couldn’t find any negative reviews? Limited Lifetime warranty. One of my biggest concerns is how they will hold up in extreme cold temps and with corrosive road chemicals? I emailed them and they responded within minutes! Tested to below -50! And anodizing/cearakoted to resist chemicals, also they stated the main reason for failure is lack of use IE stored for 4-5 months without any use. Hand built in USA (NC) 50% off!!! $1523 to my door. Shocks should be here by the end of next week.

I’ll DIY install and put them through the paces over the winter and update here an honest review with the good, bad, and ugly.

Ordered these as well and plan on install this weekend. Impressed with the build quality and the price. Excited to see how they ride.

Not that I have tons of experience with shocks but compared to the eibachs I had on my Tundra the JRI’s build quality looks and feels far superior. Ride quality? Will find out next week, friend has some tags that need filled…

On my last Tacoma build I ran the OME BP 51's and was really happy with the ride, but adjusting compression and rebound was a pain in the ass. Sure mostly set and forget but I occasionally changed the load in the bed and it required to reset both compression and rebound. We will see how this JRI's turn out but for the dollars saved it was worth giving them a try.

Got the front done. Took about 3 hrs. Screwed up and didn’t mark the alignment cam tabs! So I’m definitely going to need an alignment! The only problem was the front brackets for the remote res, they won’t fit on top of the shock towers if using both bolt holes. I used 1 bolt and angled it out a bit to make it fit. Still solid just not as designed. Locked the preload collars down at 7/8 of an inch netted 2 3/4 inch lift but it did settle down to 1 5/8! About perfect, rear is 1/4 inch high for now, tomorrow I’ll get the rears installed and hoping it’ll be about 1 inch high in the rear. CV angle looks good.

Called JRI getting measurements for front res brackets, said they would overnight a new set! Impressive customer service! I had problems with the passenger rear bracket, just need to remove the fuel pump bracket to install the JRi res bracket (Read the instructions) 🤣

You get the install done?
No unfortunately, had a few life things that have made me have to postpone the install. More than likely will be a couple of weeks before I can get back to it. How is the ride? I saw you mention that you had to get different external reservoir mounts?
