I go to Big Bend a couple times a year. Driven all the roads in NP and the main road to the state park. The main road is easy enough and there are several good hikes with trail heads right along the road.

Have you camped in the state park

Sweet, maybe next time pick a GPS spot in the middle of some mildly challenging forest roads and meet there. Someone bring a grill and a cooler. Take turns scouting out a spot for the next meetup. Would be fun. Or, you know, a Costco parking lot for the hotdogs can be fun too!!
