I've followed the instructions in the manual , but I'm unable to connect to my 2024 Tacoma dashcam with the app.

I'm able to connect to the dashcam WiFi with no problems at all. But then when I go back to the app, I can't control anything or see any settings, etc.

I've tried turning off Bluetooth, WiFi, going into Airplane mode, and then turning on WiFi, etc. But like I said, I have no problems seeing and connecting to the DashCam's WiFi. When I go back to the app, it doesn't see that I'm connected.

Here's a screenshot showing how far I'm able to get. When I click "Add Dashcam" I see the options to control it, but nothing happens. (Android User, for what it's worth)

Make sure you arent connected to something like carplay or android auto. Wifi should be on and not in airplane mode. I found the integrated dashcam app to be total garbage and find it easier to just pull the microsd card and copy things to my laptop.

Was it ever paired with your phone? I remember I had to hold down a button to get the actual camera into wifi mode page 18 here https://www.toyota.com/content/dam/toyota/owners/dashcam/pdf/Toyota_Integrated_Dashcam.pdf

So make sure that the phone (or any other phones) are connected to Bluetooth or CarPlay, and if the app pops up requesting to connect to your Toyota you should decline.

to connect to the Toyota dash cam, I open the app 1st, tap the WiFi button on the dash cam, and then go into my phone WiFi to connect to the dash cam. After connecting to the dash cam WiFi I go back into the dash cam app and it then works.

Hope this helps.

I’m also having a similar issue getting it to work unless I’m connected to wifi. I’ll try your suggestion and see if that works for me.

Let me know if it works. If not I can shoot a quick video over the weekend.

Thanks for the tips - but it still doesn't work. My phone sees the camera WiFi and I'm able to connect to the camera WiFi successfully. But when I go back to the app, it still shows the icon to add a dashcam.

On a side note, I am able to view the videos when I connect the SD card to my computer, so at least I know that it's recording.
