One Year old Tacoma- Anyone paying $15 for remote features in the app?

When I bought my Lexus in 2018, it was $70 for the year. I subscribed for a few years, then let it lapse. As I’ve mentioned before, Toyota asked the question, and enough people said, "Yes, I will pay $15 per month, thank you."

As I pointed out earlier, with the key fob, you can reach into your pocket and press a button. The downside is that you need a line of sight. With the app, you can be anywhere in the world as long as you have a cell signal. That was a Lexus selling point—if you're traveling for an extended period, you can remotely start your vehicle to charge the battery.

My Tacoma will be a year old near the end of April. No plans at all to pay for subscriptions.

I will be. I love the app and the remote start. I use it daily. Also have an iphone shortcut on my phone. I push one button on the front page of my iphone and it opens the garage and starts the truck every AM that way it can warm up before heading out. I also use it on my walk to the truck after work. I start it about 5-10 min before getting in.

Pretty easy. We have a lot of the hone automated on Apple Home. That includes the garage door opener. So the one touch on the shortcut opens the garage and then starts the truck. When I pull in at night I turn on my seat heater and steering wheel heater then lock the truck.

I still have 7 or 8 months of free app use, but since I noticed that I don't actually use the app anyways, I deleted it.

It should be free. We’ve all spent enough on these trucks.

It's insulting to think that corporate feels the Toyota app provides the more value than netflix and the same value as amazon prime. I hope no-one renews this B.S.

I also like the remote feature on the app. But the $15 monthly subscription is a little too much. Still debating whether I will be paying the $15 monthly fee when my one year is up.

I haven't reached a year yet but will pay for it, I use it a lot. I like location feature and my Insurance gives me a discount since I have tracking onboard. It's cheaper than a burger and a beer!
