I have the same exact noise 24 TRD off road... I think it's wide spread... For me AC is fine it's if I put the heat on above 68° and use only the top vents... It's annoying but I think everyone may have it just never noticed before it goes away immediately when switching to AC or circulation air..
Any update?
Yes, it happens at various temp settings because the vents are not fully manually controlled. Even when you set temp/fan speed the computer still adjusts things. I have had it happen on heat and on cool. Using 'auto' sometimes helps for a bit.

I have a case open with Toyota and I am just doing the run around with the local dealer not calling me back to set up another appointment. Hopefully they call today.

If you choose to call toyota corporate I can message you the case number I have so that they can group them together.

Another update to the blog, Truck back at dealer. This time I was told a 'master technician' is going to look at it and converse/work with Toyota directly.

I expect no progress like the last 2 times they have looked at it. I dropped it off and the dealer acted like they weren't even expecting it and were surprised to see my name in their appt list.

Fun times, I'm going to keep pushing this though. I don't know if its lemon law worthy but they are going to keep seeing me until some resolution is found.

How many miles are on your truck OP? I had a whistle as well but it went away after about 2 weeks of ownership and hasn’t come back.

hoping they get it worked out for you

I have had it for about 2 months. I don't drive much so I only have about 600 miles.

I had the truck in this past week. They kept it the entire week and were in contact with Toyota Corporate. They attempted to switch out the ac fan which didn't resolve the issue (I could have told them that but whatever).

They took videos and sent them to Toyota and are awaiting the next move. They were able to compare my truck to others on the lot and the others did NOT have the whistling issue. My gut says its just bad 'flaps' in the main unit that control the air direction. It would be cool if they could like use an inspection camera in the vents and try to find the offending vent. Who knows, I won't hear back from them for about a week.

I got the truck back to use for a trip. Other then that I have 2 other minor issues, the right mirror doesnt adjust with the power buttons unless I push down on the R/L selector... probably just bad contact. The other I discovered is the front seal where the plastic under the wipers meets the windshield its not pressing the weather seal against the windshield in the center there is a gap and i'm sure water gets in. Not sure how big a deal that is but will have them look at it.

Update, Toyota has communicated that a new hvac ‘box’ would need to be installed. They are sending the parts to the dealer. They will have to dismantle the dash to do it. As I have sorta feared now I have to decide if it’s worth the risk of future dash issues to fix the whistling 😕

Another update, parts are in. Will be getting the work done next week.
I am taking extensive photos of the interior and videos of the ride quality/noises so that I have evidence in the event the work causes squeaks and rattles. Fun stuff.

I am taking my 2024 off road in to my dealer tomorrow for a high frequency/pitch noice that occurs when the HVAC is on as well. It’s not a whistle, but definitely a high frequency noise from what I assume is the electronic part of the HVAC. My dealer stated they haven’t seen any other new tacomas have the issue yet, but they will diagnose and disassemble as needed to find the issue. Fingers crossed all goes well. Please keep me updated on your progress and I’ll update on mine too.

I have a light whistle in mine, but I'm not concerned about - nor do I want my dash ripped out.

Just purchased a 24 trd off-road. Have the same issue, took it to the dealer and test drove another that has the noise. Spoke with service this dealer has put a stethoscope to it and found the issue is due to a double stacked blower motor. So the blower motor on bottom is pushing air through the one on top causing the whistle. The rav4 also has this issue per the tech I spoke with.

Idk, they are replacing the hvac box on mine. They kept mine for a week to diagnose it with Toyota. They did initially remove the blower motor from mine and install one from another taco on the lot that didn't have the whistling. They put the other motor(s) in mine and it still whistled.

When my truck broke down for other reasons I had a SR5 2024 for a week and that one didn't make the noise.

My truck is at the dealer this week for the fix hopefully i'll have some positive news on it.

Mine has a noise sometimes on a start up but seems to go away in a minute or so. It also doesn’t seem to happen all the time.

Had a similar issue with mine, not whistling, but buzzing. Would go away after I cranked up the fan, but would return once the system was turned off and turned back on. Dealer is repairing it with a brand new blower motor. Took two days for them to order it, just need to make the appointment to get it installed.

Hope this fixes it. If so let me know. I dread the thought of taking a brand new truck in for that but I guess that’s what I get for buying the first year of a new gen 😅

Just an update, not a great one. Truck is in the shop they tore it down to get to the AC box / temperature control blend door etc. I guess they figured out that either Toyota didn't send all the parts or that they need some other parts that weren't ordered. Either way not fun. ETA on the new parts is 2 weeks so I am stuck waiting. At least I have a rental Rav 4.
