I will check VIN and build date when I get home and if my wife hadn’t of drove the truck with her flip flops on and felt the water dripping on her foot there’s no telling how long it would’ve been before it was found. How did you notice the leak on day 1? Instantly was dripping water on your feet?
But that’s what I’m saying. If the water is dripping on your foot then it will start to pool up on the floor liner. I think anybody would notice the water on the floor and realize there’s a problem even if you didn’t physically feel the water dripsI will check VIN and build date when I get home and if my wife hadn’t of drove the truck with her flip flops on and felt the water dripping on her foot there’s no telling how long it would’ve been before it was found.
Again I’m not understanding the towl method, you’ll clearly be able to see the water dripping. The people claiming to only feel it with flip flops makes no sense. If you had sneakers on you’d still see water all over the liners and carpet and on your shoes@skunion1987 nice to see Toyota taking care of it's own. You're right - the probably treat the rest of us even worse.
Interesting that you know the problem with the crash bar assembly. So it does sound like assembly error at that plant. It also sounds like they might still be building Tacomas that way and that means a lot more bad evaporators in the pipeline. I will take @tampacg1967's advise and take a blue towel when I pick mine up. Even though it will still be a few months until I get one mine, which is either in build or about to be build right now.
I know the lemon law process is a pain, but if it were me they would have to either fix it within 30 days or get me a new truck. Otherwise I would pull the lemon law trigger.
Let us know how this goes.
80 % of the condensation water does travel out of the drain tube outside , the other % depend on how large the crack is drips by gas pedal . Depends on how long a/c is on. You are not going to notice on short drives and the carpet will not be soaked or will have time to dry out.Again I’m not understanding the towl method, you’ll clearly be able to see the water dripping. Right but some of you guys noticed it on the ride home with brand new truck80 % of the condensation water does travel out of the drain tube outside , the other % depend on how large the crack is drips by gas pedal . I was wearing sandals, noticed the cold water on my foot. Not a lot of water but enough to cause me to look for an issue.Right but some of you guys noticed it on the ride home with brand new truck
No necessarily. It depends on the size of the leak. Not all of them have been bad enough to flood the floor and make it obvious. A blue towel looks different when it is wet and is a great idea for finding if the leak is there or not. I know I will be taking some with me and test driving it before I sign the paperwork. After you buy it the problem is yours and not the dealers anymore.Again I’m not understanding the towl method, you’ll clearly be able to see the water dripping.
How wide spread is this occurrence? Any idea how many are affected? Like I said I’ve driven few weeks now every day with a/c I’d think if it was cracked I’d see a leak by now and nada . Im not worried about honestly in my opinion if it was gonna leak it would have alreadyNo necessarily. It depends on the size of the leak. Why don't you just stick your head in the drivers side footwell and look? How wide spread is this occurrence? Any idea how many are affected? Definitely do that. When I looked up there and did not see crack I was relieved and at that point kinda was convinced it was condensation. A forum member recommended taking it to dealership for inspection and documentation. Thank you whoever mentioned that. Why don't you just stick your head in the drivers side footwell and look?
I don't think we know enough at this point to know how wide spread this is, but not all 4th gen Tacos have this problem, just some trucks assembled at Guanajuato. How wide spread is this occurrence? Any idea how many are affected?
