Wiper motor noise

Just wondering if anyone has come across a situation where the wiper motor makes an excessive amount of noise. I turn on the wipers and all is good for a few minutes and then the darn motor continuously makes a low pitched “groan” that becomes louder the longer they are turned on. The wife says I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill but it drives me nuts. I will definately bring it to the attention of the service department the next time I take it in but just wondering if this is happening on other units or is my wife right? Am I making too much of this? Had my TRD Sport Plus now for about 2 months and this is my only issue. Love the truck.

Haven’t driven long enough in heavy rain to have it on more than briefly in my first 500 miles, but no I have not experienced that yet.

I posted about this a month ago.. and there were a number of people that corroborated the annoyance. I just live with it now, don't think the service department will be of any use.

The sound of the windshield wiper motor takes me back to the future. I enjoy that sound because those days are long gone now. My Yamaha TW200 transports me back to the late 80s and this turbo truck with vintage wiper motor sounds transports me back to the late 90s.

it's been raining most of the summer I didn't notice at first but with the radio low my wiper motor is so loud... I thought it was just me until I saw this thread
.. Guess everybody has loud wipers.... Damn it's way worse set to "delayed" driving me nuts

I was thinking at first that this issue was primarily on units that went up here to Canada but I see some of our American friends have the same problem. Probably doesn’t matter which plant it is assembled in either- appears to be a problem across the board. Thanks for the input.

It’s not a problem it’s what windshield wipers have sounded like for a very very very very very long time. Is it antiquated? Yes problem no. Just say I don’t like the sound of the windshield wipers when you trade the Tacoma in. That could be a first but as with human beings most likely not.

That may well be but mine is definitely a concern and will be brought to the attention of the service department next visit.

When the service writer at your dealership gives the repair order titled wipers make funny noise the technicians are going to be like what in the actual fuck. Trade the truck in because wipers drive you nuts if you must. It not a problem with your truck and that service department has better things to do helping people with actual repairs on there vehicles. This is beyond ridiculous.
