@Tom Sellick I read something on another forum indicating that at least one person's Pro was on a QC hold. So apparently some of them are having the same problem.
Our halo models will end up being rare in the 2024 model year and someday that might make them more valuable.
Thanks @WKTJR1. I noticed two things. None of these are temporary VINs so, that makes me think they don't go into the system until after build. The other is that these real VINs all have "00" in place of the build week.
I just need to be patient - it seems like mine either was not built during...
@2ndGen2TrlHntr Yes - that was my question. My allocation is for a TRD Pro and not a Trailhunter, but I assume that all the Tacomas are the same.
I received a link to a Toyota web page showing my truck, price, temporary vin and the port options not long after my dealer got the allocation. But...
Thanks @2ndGen2TrlHntr. And they won't show up at all until they are in the build phase? Mine has never shown up even though the temporary vin showed build week as 28.
Are you getting these status updates by searching on the Toyota inventory feature, or is there another way to see allocations and status? I have not gotten any status update from my dealer.
Yeah - that might be a good choice. After I posted I remembered that the fender liners I sprayed were plastic, back before everything went felt. The fabric spray would probably do the job, which is just to mask the ugly white paint and might adhere better.
@Krystiv I am a hard core Toyota guy, but I do understand how you feel. It is the old fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
In a couple of years the new model problems should be under control and you can get your truck. I also agree with some others that vehicle quality is not...
I plan to pay someone to PPF my truck, but it is crazy expensive.
If you have done a wrap I would think that PPF is pretty much the same thing.
Post some pictures it you do your Taco.
Yeah - it does sound like it was broken right out of the box. I mentioned watching the DCT failures in Hyundais. For a long time there was no fix, some Santa Cruz trucks sat for a long time and many dealers didn't provide loaners. That is the big difference with Toyota. You got a rental and...
Technical Service Bulletin. It is not a recall and they will not notify you about this, but if you come in with the problem there will already be plan to handle it all under warranty.
Totally agree @Gfenza89 and @Sagebrush. I am not nearly ready to bail and after owning many Toyota products I trust them to take care of any problems that I do have.
I still think there are more tranny failures than I ever expected and I will be interested to see how Toyota handles this.
When I first saw the failing transmissions I did some reading on the reliability to Aisin transmissions. Overall they are very good but there are obviously problems, as the 4th gen in proving.
A lot of failures are related to the oil pump and the valve body. Something about the pump can lead to...
Sorry to hear about your transmission. You might have a new record for failure at 7 km, but there have been more transmission failures than a lot of us find acceptable. I do think Toyota will take care of you, but having a brand new truck die sucks.
Good luck and keep us posted as things develop.
A little over the top with that title, since this applies to almost any vehicle in its first year of production, as many others have said.
By the time that the 2025 Tacomas are becoming readily available most part shortages will have gone away. It is jus the price we pay to have the newest...
Yep - that is about as far from the truth as you can get.
I have watched other new generations of Tacoma arrive labeled as all new when they obviously were not. Absolutely everything about the 4th gen is new: from the frame to the suspension, from the engine to the transmission, from the...
At least you have a smoking gun since that stuff started just after your dealer worked on your Trailhunter.
I hope they figure this out and it is an easy fix. Good luck!
