You should see what your Tacoma might bring on either a sale or trade in. They hold their value better than most vehicles and the 4th gen trucks are still in high demand, depending on the model.
I would find a way to move on because life is too short to be driving a truck which you obviously...
I guess I would start with my dealer and see if the ones on your truck are just defective. Trailhunters are pretty new to the market and hopefully Toyota can come up with replacements that fit properly.
You could try some silicone but if that was my truck I would expect Toyota to provide a...
I'm sure that is it, but it is strange that the non-hybrid OR doesn't get that and the hybrid does.
I guess putting the airdam on the hybrid is a better way to get their mpg goal.
Congrats @Whiskey3!
I have only ever sold a Toyota truck because my needs changed and not because it was anywhere close to being worn out. You should be able to drive that new Taco for a very long time.
I went from a Tacoma to a Tundra and will soon be going back to another Taco. I guess I had just adapted to the size of my Tundra, because sitting in a 4th gen it seemed small to me also. When I first bought the Tundra it seemed gigantic and I still find myself in situations where it just...
@brentbba I do think that some silicone would hold the covers in place, but they might be difficult to remove if needed. You could also try Loctite to see if that fixed the problem.
I read your post too quickly and thought that the fastener itself was coming off, which would be really lame.
It seems to be, but I have no idea why they would do that.
Maybe so they can sell more bags of suspension arm plugs to stop the noise after you remove that ugly air dam.
Congrats @Taco Azul
That is definitely a very nice looking truck, and I think that is the first long bed TH that I have seen in black.
I really makes an impression and the TH wheels look very good with the black exterior.
I agree. Not only is it a cool feature, and telling buyers about it would stop them from thinking that Toyota doesn't know how to paint a truck.
My first Toyota truck with that chip guard was a 1983, so it is not new to me. Cars and trucks are different beast, so there is a lot of new stuff for some buyers.
The 4th gen Taco has attracted a lot of new truck buyers, which I think is great. I think that a sweet design, better driving...
Toyota has been very conservative about this for a long time. I can drive my Tundra past the light coming on and then down to where the gauge shows no gas remaining and still not be able to put the full capacity into the tank. I think the closest I have come still left 4 gallons remaining.
I...
Good information and I hope that is the source of the oil on @jci's truck. Checking it out the way you suggest could help figure that out. I also wondered if there was any oil under his truck, which would point to a rear main failure. If there isn't any then assembly lube seems more likely.
I...
I would make Toyota replace that with something that actually works if it were me. It's not like you bought the bargain version Taco.
It takes a lot of balls to advertise the TH as the ultimate overlander, and then have the snorkel come loose if your big bad trucks hits a branch. That is lame.
Yeah, looks like a rear main to me, and your Tacoma isn't the only one. But it is a straightforward repair and parts should be available, so there should be very little down time.
Please let us know how this turns out.
