They acknowledge there's a problem, presumably with the design. No solution mentioned. I have my cover. I just took it off and am saving it. We'll just have to see if Toyota acts on the acknowledged problem.
I'd be VERY CURIOUS as to the snorkel part!!! I've already complained directly to Toyota about the cheap crappy way that the cover on the bottom of the snorkel DOES NOT hold the cover on well at all. I was contacted my my local dealer customer service manager and all he was able to say was...
Bedliner yes. Everything else was standard on the Trailhunter.
Very well could be the combo of all that. ARB bar itself didn't seem to weigh that much when I removed it.
My Trailhunter came with a little yellow sticker reducing the total weight...assume it's the weight of the ARB Sports bar, but just guessing. Purchased back in June.
Oh, nice idea! I used to be able to tuck a 45 between the driver seat and center console in my 80 series Landcruiser. No room there in the Trailhunter. Offroad with big critters like bears, that's my personal choice, even in Commifornia. Yes, I do have my CCW.
My other FT-8800 stayed with the Landcruiser when I sold it. I don't want to do anything permanent until I'm more comfortable with the truck and where I want everything.
Faceplate looks good there! Tape or velcro to hold it in place? I didn't remove the seat. Moved it all thecway forward, used a little left over velcro to hold it in place. I ran the wires out the side down under the plastic runner at the door. I could clean it up a little by poking a hole...
I did turn on the AC120 button driving this evening. It did illuminate and stay on. Encouraging to say the least. Now to plug in something both in the bed and in the center console just to confirm power.
@rchrds , usb ports at the compressor are on when the compressor is turned on, so I can assume the same will be true of the 12v plug. Compressor will only run with the truck on. That takes care of fridge power when driving. Now to see if the 120v outlet in the truck will work while driving...
Ok, I'll check. Today's fridges draw so little it's not the issue I had with my ancient ARB. Then again, I was running dual batteries with a separator. I don't think I even have anything with a 12v adaptor anymore! I'll have to try the usb port and assume if it's powered without the engine...
Nice, hadn't noticed those when I tried out the compressor. So same annoying power issue. That stinks! One or the other should be live regardless. The 12v would be fine, but I guess Toyota thinks we're all stupid and can't make age our power consumption! It needs to be live while driving or...
