That's a nice one.
I noticed the black panels on the corners. I believe that is the radar for the the blindspot monitoring. Ensuring those panels are kept in place is going to be the limiting factor in obtaining an aftermarket bumper and I'm sure ARB included that somehow. I dont know how the...
Like you said, there's supposed to be one in the cabin somewhere but I have yet to try and locate it. I *think its behind the panel to the left of the pedals. There should be one at the rear bumper too, but again, I haven't gone looking for it yet.
I've had cooled/ventilated seats in a few rentals over the years, but never my own cars. I always thought it felt like I had pissed myself.
That being said, it is nice to have on hot days. I might get an aftermarket kit since my Sport+ didn't come with them.
Thank you!
My previous 4x4 didn't have the market exposure that Taco's have and Rough Country is new to me. I do expect some jacked prices, but I'm sure there are some diamonds out there where the quality and price have a nice balance.
Been checking out aftermarket recovery points after seeing a paid review on YT for Nytop.
I'm a little shocked with the Nytop price, and I can't justify their cost. Its just too much for some basic steel plate.
However, I just came across these Rough Country products, and they seem quite...
A lot of newer vehicles have shaped engine covers that purposely direct air under the hood to assist with cooling, or don't have them for whatever reason. While this is a minor mod in the big picture and admittedly it does look very good, I am curious if it would impact engine cooling in any way...
The manual (which you can download off the Toyota webpage) states 87 Octane and does discuss Top Tier Fuels. And while this engine does have direct injection, it also has port injection. Apparently there's some funky self-cleaning feature that the it does while you're at idle to prevent the...
I read that Costco takes a loss on every litre/gallon they sell. Its mostly to generate memberships and get people to the store so they will hopefully buy something else while they are there. Same thing goes for their roasted chicken - Take a loss but put it at the back so people have more...
that is true. But is the 278 crankshaft HP or at the wheels? Its usually published as crank HP/torque so the transmission losses wouldn't come into play just yet.
They probably could have just marketed as 270hp or 278hp all across the board in that case. Few people will dyno it and any...
I am genuinely curious about this.
As I understand it, fuel doesnāt/canāt usually travel far from the refinery, so all retailers in a geographic area will be starting off with the same product.
If that marketing is to be believed, then the āpremium productsā with their detergents and other...
Just throwing this in here: heard today on the Car Care Nut YouTube interview that while the engine is shared with other models, only 56% of it was kept. Donāt know what is different, but the other 44% is specific to the taco. I would imagine they needed to beef it up a bit for towing and GVWR...
Iām picking up my Sport+ 6M on Saturday (apr 20). Iām in Calgary, but I ordered it through the Red Deer dealership. Put my deposit down about 9 months ago, well before they started any production.
He did address the lesser HP/torque on the manual. Although the engineer didnāt say ācrankshaft hammeringā like Sheldon did, he mentioned how they couldnāt control the output on the manual like they could on the auto. He talked about clutch dumps and such and very briefly mentioned emissions...
As it turns out, the head unit seems to have been reused from previous gens, and definitely in the Tundra judging by the rear connectors and such. I have found some aftermarket options (the always on front cam for example) that can be spliced in. I'm hoping to find some harnesses with a little...
Quick update from me: my dealership said there's been no information sent out or recalls on this 'loss of even gears' problem, but like others have eluded to its a very small sample size to determine if this is a widespread problem. They aren't making very many and even fewer have been delivered...
I haven't driven the new Taco yet and reviews of the power delivery are positive, so I'm not at all trying to complain about the stock config.
Turbo engines are typically easier to squeeze out performance gains, even without having to swap out injectors and such. I suspect the engine has...
I'm scheduled to take delivery of a Sport 6M within the next two weeks. I've reached out to my dealership to inquire about this 'defect'. I'll update with what I find out.
Wow. Ok. That's a damn good start. Thank you for that!
By the sounds of it, the main head unit is the same for all models and the screen slapped on the front might be the only difference. So, adding things like cameras later might be plug and play.....maybe. I'll have to search out a wiring...
