Well, you know as well as I do that at least here in San Antonio, it is a real thing. But yeah, the people suck-o-meter has been in a steep upward curve over the last couple of decades.
Yeah, I keep seeing folks post about eliminating non-existent turbo lag. Granted, I've only put 2600 miles on my '24 Taco, but I have yet to experience any turbo lag.
Keep your head on a swivel for these. Mine came two weeks early with only hours of heads up notice from the company via email. The HD-2 are nice though. I really like them.
I just came off the Toyota site and goofing with the configurator. Was hoping that maybe the Prerunner would come with the option of a 14in screen, but no dice.
I suspect that once you get your truck and start modding, you may find that the smaller screen is fine. I do like the 14" screen, but...

100% This. It's worse than useless. A few times it has tried to get me to enter an adjacent highway when the destination was immediately to my right.
I just use Android Auto with Waze and am happy with that. The Toyota navigation is good to have up when you just want to see the surrounding...

No they didn't Tyler. When I reserved the allocation they had coming in with a deposit, that was literally the end of it. I had a receipt for the deposit and they attached my name to the allocation in their system. Toyota wasn't involved whatsoever, just the dealership.
Bought and installed Screen ProTech. Fit both digital display and 14" infotainment screen perfectly. Did not install the odd bits over the heated and ventilated seat buttons. As explained above, a bit pricey, but I'm not unhappy at all.
