looks really good, one of the best bed cap options out there.
when you get a chance can you take closer pics of the roof rails and the gap between the back of the cab and the cap?
I bought this and returned it.
It doesn't sit PERFECTLY flush on the side with the handle to the back of the center console, it fits a little too big that a corner is raised a few mm's
Love the idea though, I would rebuy if they work on the measurements.
honestly my rear fenders were already peppered with chips, so it's been hard to tell the difference.
the micros do help to a certain degree, but they definitely hold more aesthetic value than anything.
i've decided that getting rock sliders with top plates would be a better solution than any...
haha yeah they're a perfect match, luckily nytop is local to me and a "deal" was made for me to test the bumper ;)
unrelated but got cbi lower control arm skids in "trd grey" coming in to complete the look 🤩
upgraded in a very similar fashion - NYTOP Aluminum Hybrid Bumper
now I have the plastic painted bumper sitting in my garage if any socal local wants it
didnt need a metalizer, just used plastidip primer and this aluminum aerosol from dipyourcar, matched the trd skid perfectly.
1 light coat of primer and I was able to do about 4/5 coats of plastidip with 1 can and more left over
it lasted pretty well for the week that i had it on before...
small price to pay for a peace of mind, for the frequent off roaders the pain in the ass it would be to have these break while on the trail and sit in a dealer lot for a month waiting for parts is well worth the $70
but yes it is only a temporary solution until toyota does and should address...
msrp is $200
i replaced the OR 2 piece skid with the aluminum and would be willing to sell and ship the stock for any sports or sr5's wanting it, would need to solve the missing crossbar problem to put it on though
dealer should've emailed you ETA for individual parts, if not you should call. they won't notify you the order is ready unless all the parts have arrived, so it could be one part holding up your pickup.
clean install looks great, I would definitely consider doing this over the oem truck bed compressor
any concerns with it being exposed to dust/dirt/mud under the truck bed?
Yeah for how often I'm out on trails I don't mind sticking a temporary band aid on for peace of mind. Even though if a failure were to happen and it would be covered under warranty, I would rather not go through the hassle and inconvenience just for them to replace it with the same part.

Thoughts? Seems like a good preventative measure but not a real solution to the underlying problem.
