  1. Homemade Rock Sliders

I asked NYTOP (https://www.tacoma4g.com/forum/threads/not-your-typical-rock-sliders-by-nytop.4849/) and they said 70# per side. I also recall seeing 160#/set for one of the other makes on their web site. There is also one outfit selling aluminum ones at 31# per side. Sorry about the vagueness...
  2. 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro Full Transmission Replacement After 342 Miles

Strongly recommend that you make the first couple hundred miles (at least) of that country highways with varying speeds not greater than 65.
  3. Paint Issues - Wind Chill Pearl

A friend of mine has a buddy at a Toyota dealer who told him they are having a lot of trouble with that color (has had multiple trucks needing areas repainted). I think he mentioned the roof as a problem area.
  4. Rotating full size spare - TPMS?

Have a look at page 540 in the manual. It goes over registering ids. Haven't tried anything myself.
  5. Rear locker on the Off-Road trim -- only available in 4low?

Manual also warns not to use the locker at more than 5 MPH.
  6. Disable Wireless Charger

No idea what might happen and not planning on finding out.
  7. Disable Wireless Charger

My phone doesn't support wireless charging, but that spot is perfect for holding it while it is charging on a cord. So, I set out to disable the charger. Took pictures in case it will help someone else. Another post somewhere said the fuse was under the glovebox. Manual shows where and how to...
  8. 1-Piece vs 2-Piece Rear Driveshafts

    Long-bed OR has 2 piece.
  9. Real-Life MPG Thread - Share Your 2024+ Tacoma 4th Gen's Gas Mileage! â›˝

Just back from short trip. 197.4 mi using 7.49 gal for 26.3 mpg. Computer had 27.2 Country highway in mountains. Speed 45-65 (mostly 55). Elevations ranging from 6500-~8000 Cruise control on at speed limits for most of the trip. I'm sure it's going to suck once I get on the freeway and even...
  10. Real-Life MPG Thread - Share Your 2024+ Tacoma 4th Gen's Gas Mileage! â›˝

Still breaking mine in (<500 mi) Just did about 100 miles round trip. Country highway at 6300-7000 ft elevation, no really steep grades but plenty of up and down, mostly 55-65MPH, and about 20 miles on gravel road at ~20MPH. Computer says 25.3 mpg (reset at start of trip). I think speed is...
  11. 5,000+ mile update 2024 TRD Sport

Do you know if they were able to use the access plate to do the oil change or did they have to remove the skid plate?
  12. 5,000+ mile update 2024 TRD Sport

No, but apparently some dealers don't care when you get your 2 free oil changes. I'm planning to have the dealer do the first one at 5000. If I have to pay for it, I will. Will probably do one myself at 15k.
  13. Is This From My Truck?

Lucky is right. When I moved and cleaned out my garage it cost me 2 tires.
  14. Victory 4x4 front skid plate installed

That would be a big selling point for me, but that panel looks awful small. I don't suppose anyone has done that yet to see if it works out well.
  15. Is This From My Truck?

Looks like a screw for a metal or fiberglass roofing panel except it's got sheet-metal threads. Check any place where flexible materials are screwed to the body (wheel well liner, mud flaps, etc). I don't see any screws with the rubber cushion, but I haven't crawled under mine yet.
  16. How important is the break in before highway driving?

I think thermal cycling would be getting the engine fully warmed up, then shutting down until it cools. I doubt that running the heat cools the engine significantly.
  17. DIY PPF

I'm planning to do the same.
  18. How important is the break in before highway driving?

As WKTJR1 said, don't lose any sleep over it. Nothing's going to fall apart. Lots of people do the same thing (most people, and pretty much ALL salespeople have no clue about things like this anymore). I don't think it's nearly the issue it was back in dinosaur days when some of us were...
  19. How important is the break in before highway driving?

From what I'm seeing here and at Tacoma world you might want to spend the first three or four hours doing short 10-20 mile runs at varying speeds, then taking a break to allow cooling down. Some comments claimed that the first hundred miles could make the difference between living with a...
